The Beginning
Hailing from Lumberton, NC, I attended North Carolina State University, where I earned my Bachelors degree in Textile Management. After graduation, I worked for a major retailer before finding my calling in the tech industry in 2010. Since then, I have established myself as an energetic, customer centric professional with broad knowledge and success in accessibility, product ownership, data mining, training, and process improvement with an uncanny ability to master innovative software and tools. I have been based in the DC Metro area since in 2016 where I make a concerted effort to live my life with intention.
Creating Black Girl Magic
In 2017, I came up with the idea of the Black Girl Magic Planner out of a need to have a more compact system to organize my financial and personal life. After many late nights and early mornings sketching designs and working with designers and manufacturers, I created a planner that helps Black women and women of color realize our goals and dreams while celebrating our magic.
Presently, I work for a leading accessibility software company where I lead the newly established Implementation department. In this role, I am building the department from the ground up, establishing and tracking KPIs, as well as developing implementation and process improvement plans to increase efficiencies and client adoption. To satisfy my entrepreneurial spirit, I have continued my planner business while also helping other businesses to identify operation efficiencies and establish processes.
